As prompted by this and the poll here, answer the following fill in the blank:

Hip hop is to music as ________ is to _________.

A so-so example might be Hip hop:music::yellow:color. A better example might be Hip hop:music::snowboarding:Olympics. But I think there are better, more creative analogies to be made here. Discuss.

My blog, The Planting Life, is currently located at http://pmm.djsybear.com. In the next day or so all my old site domains will send you to this location. In the next few months actual new sites may show up at Local-e.biz or djsybear.com. Until then, they'll just send you to postmodernmachine, basically.

For the especially net-savvy, I just upgraded to WordPress 2.0, hence a good time for the changes. I'm still trying to figure out how best to handle domain masking (if at all), which doesn't seem to work particularly well with WP and my hosting at GoDaddy. Subdomains work fine though. I may eventually switch hosting companies so I can host multiple domains from the same account w/o masking.

The upgrade to 2.0 only adversely effected my external links, which weren't designed very well in the first place. I never did bother getting them working properly in Firefox. Be sure and follow the instructions in the Codex rather than the readme. Might want to check your plugin compatibility first, though.

I find it ironic that none of this has anything to do with LJ, and yet here I am discussing it on LJ. The internet makes strange bedfellows, I suppose.
